I have now been using Viskon for around seven months and think the programme is great for 3D modelling wooden structures. The programme is extremely accurate and user friendly and is very rewarding once you get to know your way around the programme. Here at Sentinel we use Viskon to draw solid timber conservatory roofs although I would say almost anything is achievable. Once I was comfortable drawing roofs I started to experiment with garden furniture, garden offices, sheds etc. It allows us to create accurate drawings which we can then send directly to the CNC machine to be cut. This speeds up the production process massively. Once we are happy with the final design, we can then transform this into a 2D drawing plan which we are able to fully dimension and send to customers and to the production team to help assemble the product. I would say some existing experience with a 3D modelling programme and some general design knowledge would be a huge advantage when learning to use Viskon.”
